Overview
Grasstree Coal Mine is an underground coal mine located near the town of Middlemount, 200 kilometres north west of Rockhampton, in Central Queensland's Bowen Basin. The Grasstree mine is owned and operated by Capcoal which is, in turn, owned by Anglo American and Mitsu Coal Holdings Australia.

Grasstree Coal Mine extracts high quality hard coking coal from the Permian-aged German Creek Formation via longwall mining operations.
